Context is the information the model can reference while processing the current task; memory is information an application may store across conversations and provide again. Only when stored information is retrieved and used for the current task does it become part of the context.

Applications may filter, search through, or compress materials, and models have capacity limits on how much they can process at once. Important requirements can be restated at the start of a new task, and you can verify which content it actually referenced.
An Optional Small Check
Compare these two inputs: "Continue from last lesson" versus "Continue the 40-minute Silk Road lesson for 7th grade, using the updated materials below." The latter clarifies the basis for the current task, especially useful when switching conversations or when original conditions have changed.
How memory features are enabled, viewed, and deleted varies by application; don't assume one product's approach applies everywhere.
